🔍 About Our Preschool Program

Our Kids Preschool Program is a thoughtfully designed early childhood curriculum for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Inspired by the best of play-based learning philosophies — Reggio Emilia’s emergent curriculum, Montessori’s child-directed exploration and Waldorf’s creative arts integration — our programme creates a warm, stimulating environment where every child’s natural curiosity drives learning.

We believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences that engage their whole body, mind and heart. Our skilled early childhood educators observe each child’s interests and developmental stage, adapting activities and environments to meet them exactly where they are and stretch them gently forward.

At Sherin’s Rainbow, our preschool uniquely integrates the expertise of our in-house therapy team — meaning children with developmental needs receive seamlessly coordinated support within the classroom, without the disruption of leaving for separate appointments.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What are the hours and days of the programme?
We offer a half-day programme (9am–12pm) and a full-day programme (9am–3pm), Monday to Friday. We also offer a flexible 3-day per week option for younger toddlers (18–24 months) who are just beginning their school journey and may need a gentler start.
Is the programme suitable for children with developmental delays?
Yes, absolutely. Our fully inclusive model warmly welcomes children with a range of developmental needs. Our classroom teachers work closely with our in-house therapy team (OT, Speech, PT) to ensure each child’s individual goals are embedded into daily classroom activities and routines — making therapy a seamless, natural part of every child’s day.
What is your approach to behaviour guidance?
We use a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach — proactive, relationship-based and focused on teaching children what to do rather than focusing on what not to do. Our educators are trained in understanding the behaviour of young children, including sensory and communication-based behaviour, and respond with warmth, consistency and developmentally appropriate strategies at all times.
How do you communicate with parents about my child’s day?
We provide a daily communication diary noting your child’s activities, highlights, eating and sleep patterns. Teachers are available for brief pick-up conversations each day. Formal parent-educator consultations are held every term to review your child’s developmental progress and update their learning goals.
